Applied geophysics tools can be used to image or characterize the shallow subsurface of the Earth, providing insight for geotechnical engineering, aquifer characterization, geothermal resource assessment and, being neither invasive nor destructive, for archaeological and culturally sensitive sites.  The promoters of CONVERGE! have been applying different geophysical tools (temperature well logging, electrical resistivity tomography, and ground-penetrating radar) in several distinct environments, including research projects in Portugal, Spain, Morocco, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, and Antarctica.
